Technique

Start in standing position and stride a big step backward with one foot. Keep track of the front leg so that the knee positioned straight above the ankle. Allow the back knee come down to the ground, hold up upper body and feel a deep hip stretch.

Tips

Remember to keep hip width between the feet during the entire exercise, imagine you standing on a train track with one foot on each rail.

Alternatives

Keep your hands on the front knee for more support, reach arms upwards if you want to and are able to still perform the exercise with excellent technique.

Instructions

Step a big step backwards.

Place the front knee right above ankle. Come down to the ground with the rear knee, hold up your upper body.
